From Emergency Relief to Residential Environment Restoration
On-Site Support by Skilled Volunteers Shines
The Uiseong-gun Talent Sharing Volunteer Group in North Gyeongsang Province is receiving strong support from the local community as it conducts swift and practical relief and recovery activities at the recent wildfire disaster site.
The Gyeongbuk Uiseong County Talent Sharing Volunteer Group is volunteering to unload items at the Uiseong Gymnasium.
On the 15th, it was announced, "The Talent Sharing Volunteer Group has been engaged in emergency relief for wildfire victims since immediately after the incident, and is currently continuing various on-site support activities such as restoring residential environments."
Right after the wildfire broke out on March 22, the volunteer group contributed to the safety of the victims through systematic initial response, including setting up shelters, transporting relief supplies and meals, and assisting with transfers to medical institutions.
Subsequently, they helped stabilize the lives of those staying in temporary containers by improving their living conditions, such as installing insulation and replacing wallpaper and flooring.
The Uiseong-gun Talent Sharing Volunteer Group operates directly under the Uiseong-gun Volunteer Center and is composed of volunteers with skills in electricity, facilities, construction, and other technical fields.
These volunteers, who have consistently participated in home repair activities, have played a key role in regional recovery by responding even more quickly and professionally in times of disaster.
Kim Jusu, the mayor of Uiseong-gun, said, "I deeply thank the Talent Sharing Volunteer Group and all the volunteers for their dedication to neighbors even in times of crisis. Your efforts are a great support for the daily recovery of the affected residents. The county will also continue to provide support for recovery and restoration."
