Shinsegae Centum City is presenting the ceramic exhibition "God's Vessel" by Shin Hankyun at the department store's 6th floor gallery until June 22.
Shin Hankyun, the eldest son of the late Shin Jeonghee, a pioneer in the reproduction of Joseon-era bowls, has continued the legacy of traditional Korean ceramics based on the techniques passed down to him.
This exhibition features over 40 pieces, including the pure white "Dalhangari" (moon jar) with its elegant curves, the "Dongyudalhangari" which captures the unpredictable changes and kiln transformations that occur during firing, as well as the guest piece "Maehwamunho" by the late Shin Jeonghee.
Park Kyungin, curator at Shinsegae Centum City, stated, "Even amid the changes in contemporary ceramics, this exhibition offers an opportunity to experience the artistic depth and beauty of our ceramics through the works of Shin Hankyun, who has preserved traditional values."
