Kyungnam University Selected as Civilian University to Operate Defense Project Manager Training Program by Defense Acquisition Program Administration

Essential Certification for Defense Project and Defense Industry Professionals
Core Defense Industry Training Begins June 16

Kyungnam University was recently selected as a '2025 Civilian-Operated University for the National Defense Project Manager Certification Course,' organized by the Defense Acquisition Program Administration.

The 'National Defense Project Manager' is a national qualification in the defense sector, aimed at fostering professionals whose expertise in project management has been verified and promoting the social utilization of such professionals. In particular, this certification is essential for experts engaged in defense projects or working in defense-related institutions.

At Kyungnam University, the Department of Military Studies and the Department of Defense Industry at the Graduate School of Industrial Management will operate this course. From June 16 to 27, the program will provide education on core topics in the defense industry?including national defense planning and management systems, project management, localization of parts, defense RAM, test and evaluation management, and cost management?to all interested parties such as employees and researchers of defense companies, military personnel, and anyone wishing to learn about defense projects and the defense industry.

Um Hongseop, Director of the Defense Industry R&D Center, emphasized, "It is highly symbolic that Kyungnam University will operate the National Defense Project Manager certification course, and this will serve as an opportunity for the university to play a leading role in industry-government-academia-research cooperation in the defense industry within the Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam region."
