Hwang Byung-woo, Chairman of iM Financial, Appointed Director of the United Nations Global Compact Korea Association

Hwang Byung-woo, Chairman of iM Financial Group, announced on the 15th that he was officially appointed as a director of the UN Global Compact (UNGC) Korea Network through a resolution at the regular general meeting held on the 8th.


This board of directors is composed of leading domestic companies and experts who have contributed to sustainable development and the spread of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance). The board members play an advisory role in proposing policies for the domestic implementation of the UNGC's 10 principles and expanding corporate participation.


The UNGC, launched in 2000 under the leadership of the United Nations (UN), is the world's largest voluntary corporate citizenship initiative. It is a global platform that promotes corporate social responsibility and sustainable development based on the 10 principles covering human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption. The Korea Network was established in 2007 to support domestic companies in implementing these 10 principles and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and currently, about 360 companies and organizations participate.


Chairman Hwang said, "Being appointed as a director of the UNGC Korea Network board is a very meaningful responsibility and opportunity," adding, "I will further strengthen the practice of sustainable management that meets global standards and take the lead in the sustainable growth and development of local communities as a corporate citizen."
