This project involves installing solar power generation facilities by utilizing idle spaces such as roofs and auxiliary facilities of livestock barns, and selling the generated electricity. Livestock farmers can generate income through the sale of electricity produced after solar power installation (SMP) and the sale of Renewable Energy Certificates (REC).
The scale of this year's project is 2,000 kW, supporting a total of 20 locations with 100 kW each. Eligible applicants are livestock farms that have obtained permits for livestock farming and livestock manure discharge facilities. The support condition is 30% of the installation cost of 125 million KRW per 100 kW, with the remaining 70% to be borne by the farmers.
Interested farmers can apply at the administrative welfare centers of their respective towns, townships, or neighborhoods.
A city official stated, "This project will expand the participation opportunities of livestock farmers in responding to the climate crisis and serve as a stepping stone to accelerate the realization of carbon neutrality in the local community."
