Seven-Story Building Equipped with Safety Training Rooms and Convenience Facilities for Workers
Expected to Improve Welfare and Create a Safer Working Environment for Port Workers
Busan Port Authority (BPA, President Song Sanggeun) announced that the "Gamcheon Port Welfare Support Center for Port Workers" project, which was promoted to improve the environment for workers at Gamcheon Port, was completed in February 2025 and received building use approval from Seo-gu Office of Busan City as of April 1.

This project was implemented to enhance the convenience and create a safer working environment for port workers, considering the limited space for cargo handling operations at Gamcheon Port, which made it difficult to build new waiting rooms within the terminal.
The newly constructed Gamcheon Port Welfare Support Center for Port Workers is located in Amnam-dong, Seo-gu, Busan, with a total floor area of 1,713.56 square meters and consists of seven above-ground floors. The total project cost was approximately 7.8 billion KRW. The center houses welfare and convenience facilities for port workers, including lounges, safety training rooms, meeting rooms, and office spaces, which are expected to improve workers' welfare and support smooth on-site operations.
Lee Sangkwon, Head of Construction Division at BPA, stated, "We hope that the support center will be greatly appreciated as a facility for the rest and welfare of Gamcheon Port workers," adding, "We will continue to discover and promote various support projects to enhance the safety and welfare of port site workers."
