The Yeongam County Folk Ssireum Team held a "Visiting Ssireum Class" at Gurim Elementary School on the 10th, spending an enjoyable time with 5th and 6th grade students.

On this day, Coach Yoon Jeongsu, Champion Choi Jeongman, and Athlete Yoo Hwan participated, providing 2:1 coaching for the students, teaching them how to grip the satba, the preparatory stance, and various techniques of Ssireum.
The students who participated in the Ssireum class learned and practiced techniques such as Deulbaejigi and Eongdeongbaejigi, deepening their connection with Ssireum. In particular, the guest instructors of the Ssireum class emphasized to the students that this activity goes beyond a simple sport, serving as a means of inheriting tradition and culture.
No Jaeyoung, Director of Talent Development and Sports, stated, "Ssireum is a unique cultural heritage of our nation and a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage. Through these experiential activities, we will support students to encounter traditional sports as part of daily life and encourage them to become future athletes."
