Gokseong County in Jeonnam Province (Governor Jo Sangrae) announced on the 15th that its "Gokseong-type 3S (Smart, Security, Speed) Smart Map Safety Care" project has been selected for the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's Smart Welfare and Safety Service Improvement Model Support Contest for towns and villages.

The county plans to invest a total of 60 million KRW, including 30 million KRW in national funding received through the contest, to support the safety and welfare of vulnerable elderly households.

The project involves the town and village public-private safety councils visiting vulnerable elderly households to check on their safety and provide customized welfare services, with full-scale implementation scheduled to begin in May.

Governor Jo Sangrae stated, "This project combines the local community (town and village safety councils) and smart technology (Smart Safety Care Map) to secure the safety of welfare blind spots such as vulnerable elderly households in a smart and rapid manner. We will continue to do our best to spread sustainable smart welfare and safety models in the future."
