Record Number of Users for Olive Young and Daiso Apps
Olive Young and Daiso have been performing well amid the economic downturn, with the number of users of their applications (apps) reaching record highs.
On the 15th, WiseApp·Retail, an app and retail analysis service, surveyed Korean smartphone users (Android+iOS) and found that last month, Olive Young's app users totaled 8.8 million. This represents a 37% increase from 6.44 million users in the same month last year, marking an all-time high.
The number of users of the Daiso Mall app also reached a record high of 4.05 million, up 89% from 2.14 million in the same month last year.
WiseApp·Retail analyzed that "Olive Young and Daiso, which recorded the highest number of app users ever, are strengthening their presence in the online market by offering store pickup and fast delivery services based on high store accessibility."
Despite the ongoing economic downturn, Olive Young and Daiso continue to grow. Last year, Olive Young achieved nearly 5 trillion won in annual sales, and Daiso's annual sales also approached 4 trillion won.
According to Asung Daiso's audit report, Daiso's sales and operating profit last year were 3.9689 trillion won and 371.1 billion won, respectively, representing increases of 14.7% and 41.8% compared to the previous year. CJ Olive Young's sales last year were 4.7899 trillion won, a 24% increase from 3.8611 trillion won the previous year. Net profit during the same period also rose by about 35% to 470.2 billion won.
