The National Gwangju Science Museum recently held the inauguration ceremony for the 9th cohort of the youth science culture promotion group 'Lucestar' and announced on the 15th that their official activities have begun. The museum explained that these members will serve as communicators to spread scientific culture in the region.

Lucestar, which has been operating since 2017 and is now in its 9th year, means 'Shining Star' of the National Gwangju Science Museum. This 9th cohort consists of 109 elementary, middle, and high school students from the Honam region.

For the next nine months until December, the members will participate in exhibitions, educational programs, and events at the Gwangju Science Museum, and will share news and content from the museum with citizens through online platforms such as blogs, Instagram, and YouTube. Participating in poster and video contests and producing science experiment content are also among their main activities.

The museum plans to award outstanding participants with prizes such as the Minister of Science and ICT Award, the Gwangju Mayor's Award, the Gwangju Superintendent of Education Award, and the Museum Director's Award.

Lee Seongbae, Head of Public Relations and Cooperation, said, "We will actively support Lucestar so that it can contribute to the spread of scientific culture in the Honam region through the production of science content and promotion of the science museum."
