Yangcheon-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Gi-jae) will hold the 'Y Education Expo 2025' around the Yangcheon-gu Office from the 15th to the 17th of next month. 'Green Schooling' is a new educational paradigm linking the concept of 'homeschooling' with nature. The expo plans to showcase expert forums on climate change and future education directions, as well as practical educational models through experiences with future core technologies.

This expo will be conducted across six fields and 32 programs, including ▲Future Education Expo ▲Career and College Admission Expo ▲Education Forums and Lectures ▲National Youth Competition ▲Lifelong Learning Festival ▲Kids Play Zone. The experience-centered content, which anyone from youth and parents to preschool children can participate in according to their interests, has been greatly expanded, promising an innovative learning space that transcends the limitations of time and place.

In particular, this year's event has strengthened 'experience'-centered content by newly establishing zones such as the 'Green Schooling Experience Zone' focused on climate change, the 'Digital Convergence Creative Math Zone' to foster creative problem-solving skills, the 'Mini Ecological Zoo' to cultivate ecological sensitivity, and the 'Digital Dokdo Experience Center' to vividly learn about Dokdo's ecological environment through direct observation, touch, and participation.

Popular speakers from various fields will gather for educational forums and lecture programs such as the 'Y Edu Concert,' 'Star Mentor,' and 'Career Joy Talk Concert.' Cognitive psychologist Kim Kyung-il, science communicator Gwedo, actor and environmental YouTuber Kim Seok-hoon, and education and admissions creator Mimiminu will deliver lectures offering new perspectives on the value of environment and education.

Additionally, family participation events such as the 'Lifelong Learning Festival' for all generations, the 'Kids Play Zone' for infants and lower-grade elementary students, an astronomy observation class, and the Eco Cinema Theater will be provided.

In 2023, the district launched the first experiential expo centered on 'education' among local governments nationwide, reflecting timely messages such as 'If education changes, the future changes' and 'Meeting classrooms outside the classroom,' thereby re-examining the social role of education. With over 85,000 participants over two years, it has been evaluated as forming a discourse on future education and presenting a regional-based public education practice model.

Mayor Lee Gi-jae said, "This year's Y Education Expo will be a venue that practically demonstrates the future where environment and education meet," adding, "I hope this expo will be a starting point where educational practices that began in the region lead to a better future."
