LG Electronics recently launched a new stand-type air conditioner called 'Whisen Cool.' Whisen Cool features 'AI Wind,' which learns the customer's living environment and usage patterns to provide optimal airflow. After use, it also considers hygiene management with 'AI Dry,' which automatically dries any moisture that may remain inside.
Whisen Cool can be used through a subscription service that reduces the hassle of maintenance and also considers hygiene. Care experts regularly visit to systematically perform maintenance such as disassembly cleaning, filter cleaning and replacement, and cooling performance checks. The cleaning process enhances sterilization effects with phytoncide and ultraviolet (UV) care.
The shipment price of Whisen Cool ranges from 2.25 million to 2.35 million KRW. For a 6-year contract, the monthly subscription fee for the 'Light Plus' care service is between 51,900 KRW and 62,900 KRW, while choosing the 'Premium' service, which includes disassembly cleaning, costs between 71,900 KRW and 80,900 KRW per month.
Additionally, LG ThinQ app offers the 'Energy Saving Planner' service. The Energy Saving Planner helps save energy by sending alerts when the set goals are exceeded, based on the start and end dates, daily usage time, and power consumption settings.
LG Electronics' stand-type air conditioners are receiving positive responses in the market. Sales of stand-type air conditioners in the first quarter of this year increased by about 60% compared to the previous year. Sales of stand-type air conditioners equipped with AI, such as the 'Tower' and 'View,' also doubled.
LG Electronics plans to launch window-type and portable air conditioners this month so that customers can experience AI cooling even in spaces where installing stand or wall-mounted air conditioners is difficult. In particular, the portable air conditioner has earned a Grade 1 energy efficiency rating. Its structure separates the intake and exhaust hoses, improving cooling efficiency by about 35% compared to the conventional single hose method, and reducing power consumption by about 33%, thereby lowering electricity bills.
Jang Seok-hoon, head of the RAC Business Division at LG Electronics ES Business Headquarters, emphasized, "We will lead cooling innovation with AI air conditioners optimized for customers' lifestyles and spaces, and continue to lead the AI air conditioner market."
