Hanam City Officials Visit City Hall
"Making the Meaning of Sharing Even More Valuable"
Fourth Visit Following Hwaseong Welfare Foundation, Busan Nam-gu Office, and Busan Metropolitan City Hall
The 'Hall of Sharing Honor' created by Seongnam City in Gyeonggi Province is gaining attention as a model case for spreading the culture of sharing as well as honoring donors, attracting visits from other local governments.

Seongnam City announced on the 15th that officials from Hanam City visited Seongnam City Hall on the 14th to benchmark the installation and operation cases of the 'Hall of Sharing Honor.'
This is the fourth visit following Hwaseong Welfare Foundation (February 5), Busan Nam-gu Office (March 13), and Busan Metropolitan City Hall (March 24).
The 'Hall of Sharing Honor' at Seongnam City Hall is a digital wall measuring 6 meters wide and 3.3 meters high, installed in the first-floor lobby of Seongnam City Hall on November 26 last year.
It introduces the names of a total of 224 donors, their donation details, and philosophies through the screen.
In particular, the life of the late grandmother Hong Gye-hyang, who pledged to donate her entire fortune earned as a street vendor, is also realized as digital content, drawing attention. Grandma Hong was registered as Seongnam City's first 'Happy Legacy Donor' in 2014 and passed away in May last year. Her philosophy of sharing currently informs citizens about the meaning and importance of legacy donations through the digital wall.
Visitors can donate small amounts of 1,000 won or more through an on-site kiosk, and can also take certification photos instantly, encouraging citizen participation. In the four months since its installation, there have been 127 on-site donors, two members who donated more than 100 million won and joined the 'Honor Society,' and one distinguished sharing company was established.
A Seongnam City official said, "We expect that as more local governments install Halls of Sharing Honor like Seongnam City, the meaning of sharing will become even more valuable."
