Jung Yoojin Leads Team to Victory as MVP,
Proving Gimcheon City Hall's Pride Once Again
The Gimcheon City Hall Women's Basketball Team delivered a moving moment by winning the 2025 National Business Basketball Federation Championship for the first time in six years.
The Gimcheon City Hall Women's Basketball Team is taking a commemorative photo in the office of Mayor Baek Nakho of Gimcheon City Hall after winning their first tournament of 2025.
From the 11th to the 13th, Gimcheon City Hall defeated their long-time rivals, the Seodaemun District Office Women's Basketball Team, 60-48 at the Gimcheon Indoor Gymnasium to claim the championship.
In this final, Gimcheon City Hall overpowered Seodaemun District Office with dominant defense and fast breaks.
Jung Yoojin, who was selected as the tournament MVP, led the team to victory with 56 points and 33 rebounds. Not only did Jung Yoojin display outstanding individual skills, but the team's overall organization and tenacious defense also drove the win.
Baek Nakho, Mayor of Gimcheon, said, "This championship is a valuable victory shared with the citizens of Gimcheon," and added, "We will continue to develop Gimcheon as a leading sports city with the best sports infrastructure and unwavering support."
The Gimcheon City Hall Women's Basketball Team, founded in 2000, has established itself as a top-tier team in Korea to this day.
With this championship, Director Kim Dongyeol, Head Coach Jeong Guibun, and the other 10 players are expected to grow into an even stronger team.
The Gimcheon City Hall Women's Basketball Team is set to challenge for another championship at the upcoming Taebaek Mayor's Cup National Business Basketball Federation Championship in June.
The victory of the Gimcheon City Hall Women's Basketball Team is expected to further strengthen Gimcheon's sports capabilities and provide opportunities for growth together with the local community.
