Masters 5th Place Im Sungjae Rises 3 Spots in World Ranking to 22nd

Second Top 5 Finish of the Year Earns Ranking Points
No. 2 McIlroy Closes Gap to No. 1 Scheffler by 2.80 Points
Rose Rises to 12th, Kim Joo-hyung at 36th, An Byeong-hun at 37th

Im Sung-jae has risen to 22nd in the world rankings.

In the men's golf weekly world rankings announced on the 13th (local time), he received 3.21 points, jumping three spots from 25th last week. He earned points by finishing tied for 5th at the 89th Masters Tournament (total prize money $21 million), which concluded at Augusta National Golf Club (par 72, 7,555 yards) in Augusta, Georgia, USA. This is his second top 5 finish this year, following a 3rd place at the season opener, The Sentry, in January.

Im Sung-jae, who reached as high as 17th in the world rankings in February, had dropped to 25th due to poor performance in the six tournaments before the Masters, failing to make the top 10 even once, missing the cut twice, and finishing outside the top 50 three times. However, his strong showing at the Masters halted the decline and turned it into an upward trend.

Scottie Scheffler (USA) maintained his No. 1 position, but the gap with Rory McIlroy (Northern Ireland), who won the Masters and is ranked 2nd, has narrowed to 2.80 points. Xander Schauffele, Collin Morikawa (both USA), and Ludvig Aberg (Sweden) held their 3rd to 5th places. Bryson DeChambeau (USA) rose eight spots to 11th, holding the highest ranking among LIV Golf players.

Masters runner-up Justin Rose (England) jumped from 39th last week to 12th. In Korea, Kim Joo-hyung dropped slightly from 33rd to 36th, and An Byeong-hun also fell from 35th to 37th. Kim Si-woo, who did not participate in the Masters, slipped from 69th to 72nd.
