Kia Autoland Gwangju (Plant Manager Moon Jaeung) held a sponsorship ceremony for the '2025 Kia Challenge' on the 14th to support local youth in pursuing their dreams and career planning, and to foster cultural and artistic talents among children.
The 'Kia Challenge' is a representative social contribution activity sponsored by Kia Autoland Gwangju for the 12th consecutive year since 2014, in collaboration with the Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education, ChildFund Korea, and local children's centers.
The event was held at Kia Autoland Gwangju, where Plant Manager Moon Jaeung delivered a sponsorship fund of 160 million won to Lee Jungseon, Superintendent of the Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education, and Byun Jeonggeun, Director of ChildFund Korea.
This year's Kia Challenge consists of the Kia Challenge Concert, Future Challenge, Chorokbit Didim School, and Science Experience Classroom programs. These initiatives aim to provide children and youth in the community with opportunities for cultural and artistic performances, experiences, and education, as well as to help them develop a proper perspective on careers and experience advanced science and technology.
The Kia Challenge Concert is a program for middle and high school students that features mentor lectures and cultural and artistic performances to assist students in exploring career paths. Through the Gwangju Office of Education, six middle and high schools in the region will be selected, and the concerts will be held sequentially from June to November.
The Future Challenge supports the growth of children and youth passionate about culture and the arts. Eight talented individuals discovered through the Office of Education and district offices will receive sponsorship funds to support their development.
Chorokbit Didim School is a program designed to help children and youth from immigrant (multicultural) backgrounds adapt to society and access educational opportunities, thereby supporting their settlement in the community. By March, 20 participants were recruited through the Gwangsan-gu Family Center, and they will receive customized basic learning, Korean language education, and community activities.
The Science Experience Classroom will invite 200 children from local children's centers to the National Gwangju Science Museum, where they will have the opportunity to tour the exhibits and experience future technologies such as mobility and big data AI.
A Kia representative stated, "The Kia Challenge is a social contribution program that supports the growth of local children and youth and provides career exploration opportunities based on cultural and artistic content," and added, "Autoland Gwangju will continue to provide various forms of support to help the proper growth of children and youth in the community."
Meanwhile, since 2014, Kia Autoland Gwangju has been carrying out the 'Kia Challenge Project' to support underprivileged children and youth in the local community, contributing a total of 1.65 billion won in sponsorships to date.
