Gokseong County, South Jeolla Province (Governor Jo Sangrae) held the "1st Quarter Progress Report Meeting for the 8th Popularly Elected Term’s Pledge Projects" at 2 p.m. on the 14th at the county office’s Communication Maru.

The meeting was attended by Governor Jo Sangrae, Deputy Governor Jeong Changmo, heads of departments, and about 20 others. They reviewed the implementation status of the pledge projects, shared issues that arose during the process, and intensively discussed future countermeasures. The 8th term Gokseong County pledge projects consist of 40 projects in 5 categories. As of the first quarter of this year, 3 projects have been completed, and the remaining projects are progressing as planned.

The completed pledges include: in December last year, the full implementation of the Baro-Phone system, which established a communication channel to quickly address residents’ inconveniences and suggestions via text messages; the deployment of two bus assistants for seniors at the Gokseong Train Village Traditional Market, enhancing user convenience and providing a safe shopping environment. Starting at the end of this month, this service will be expanded to include the Okgwa and Seokgok traditional markets once a month. Additionally, the county increased its budget by 410 million KRW to expand support for facilities and equipment to improve odors from livestock farming.

For projects that require adjustments due to unavoidable reasons, the county plans to make changes within the scope that does not deviate from the original intent, after review by the Pledge Implementation Evaluation Committee. For projects requiring long-term efforts, the county will actively seek solutions through close cooperation with related agencies.

Governor Jo Sangrae stated, "Pledges are promises to the residents and a key factor in the trust of county administration," and requested, "Please continue to monitor all pledges to ensure they proceed without setbacks, and expedite the completion of ongoing projects."
