Marine Cleanup Activities
On-site Coastal Safety Classroom in Operation
The North Port Police Station of the Mokpo Coast Guard (Chief Chae Sujun) announced on the 14th that it conducted a large-scale marine cleanup activity and safety campaign near the coastline of Janggam-ri, Aphae-eup, Shinan-gun on the 12th.
About 40 people participated in the campaign, including officers from the North Port Police Station, the Mokpo Marine Disaster Rescue Team, the Shinan-gun Marine Environment Safety Association, and students from Mokpo City Gyeongae-won. They actively engaged in volunteer work by collecting marine debris and waste equivalent to eight 1-ton trucks.
Additionally, an on-site Coastal Safety Classroom was operated to prevent water-related accidents during the summer season, offering education on ▲how to wear life jackets ▲water safety rules ▲CPR and AED usage. These activities are ongoing and continue to contribute to marine environmental protection and the enhancement of safety awareness.
A Mokpo Coast Guard official stated, "We plan to continue promoting marine cleanup activities and coastal safety education in cooperation with related organizations," adding, "We will do our best to create a safe marine environment together with the public."
