It was recently revealed that the police have decided not to prosecute Kim Se-ui, a YouTuber sued for defamation and other charges by '10 million YouTuber' Tzuyang (real name Park Jung-won), who is the head of the Garosero Research Institute. However, it has been confirmed that the prosecution has requested the police to conduct supplementary investigations on this case, and a reinvestigation is currently underway.
According to the police on the 14th, the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office requested the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul last month to conduct supplementary investigations on the case. Last July, Kim, through his YouTube channel, stated that "Tzuyang met her ex-boyfriend and former agency representative at a nightlife establishment as a hostess and customer, and subsequently started mukbang (eating broadcast)," which led to Tzuyang filing a lawsuit against him for defamation under the Information and Communications Network Act, as well as charges of intimidation and coercion.
The police concluded the case in February with 'dismissal' and 'no charges,' citing insufficient evidence to prove criminal allegations. In response, Tzuyang submitted an objection to the police, and the prosecution requested supplementary investigations from the police on the 14th of last month. Tzuyang is scheduled to appear at the police station on the afternoon of the 16th as a complainant for questioning.
A police official stated, "This is a matter currently under investigation due to the prosecution's request for reinvestigation."
