Dong-A University and Dongseo University Hold Glocal Consortium University Performance Management Committee Meeting

Establishing a Performance Analysis and Feedback System
for Mutual Benefits between Busan, Universities, and Industry

Dong-A University (President Lee Haewoo) announced on the 14th that, together with Dongseo University, it held the appointment ceremony for the 'Glocal Consortium University Performance Management Committee' and the first session of the Performance Management Committee.

The event, held on the 10th at the main conference room of Dong-A University's Seunghak Campus, was attended by representatives from Dong-A University, Dongseo University, Busan Metropolitan City, Busan Institute of Research, Busan Global City Foundation, and related companies.

Previously, Dong-A University and Dongseo University were selected last year for the Ministry of Education's 'Glocal University' project with the vision of establishing an 'open consortium university in Busan that realizes mutual benefits for the city and universities based on an integrated industrial complex.'

Based on the implementation plan for this project, the two universities formed a 'Performance Management Committee' involving universities, local governments, and industries. The committee will be held twice a year to analyze and provide feedback on the outcomes of each initiative, ensuring that the results align with the shared interests of Busan and the universities.

The appointment ceremony for the committee members and the first meeting were held on the same day.

The committee is chaired by Hwang Kisik, Director of the Consortium University Strategic Planning Office (Director of Planning at Dong-A University), and consists of key executives from Dong-A University and Dongseo University, Kim Guiok (Director of Youth-Industry Affairs at Busan Metropolitan City), Shin Hyunseok (President of Busan Institute of Research), Jeon Yongwoo (CEO of Busan Global City Foundation), Choi Daegil (CEO of YouCanStar), and others.

The attending committee members exchanged opinions on performance evaluations of the Glocal Consortium University initiatives and suggested directions for development to realize mutual benefits between Busan and the universities.

President Lee Haewoo stated, "As we officially launch the Glocal University 30 project as a national initiative this year, we will work hard so that Dong-A University and Dongseo University can create many exemplary models that align with the purpose of the Glocal project."
