Lee Jae-myung Visits Puriosa AI for First Schedule After Candidacy... Contemplating Response to Anti-Myung Faction's Primary Rules

"Opening the Era of 100 Trillion Won AI Investment"
Democratic Party Announces 'National Participation Primary' Rules

Former Democratic Party leader Lee Jae-myung, on the 14th, visited Puriosa AI, a domestic native startup located in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, as his first official schedule after declaring his candidacy for the 21st presidential election, emphasizing the importance of a 'growth economy.'

Puriosa AI is well-known for recently rejecting an acquisition offer from the US-based Meta Platforms. On the morning of the same day, Lee posted an 'AI Policy Statement' titled 'We will stand tall as one of the world's top three AI powers' on Facebook. He emphasized, "We will open the era of 100 trillion won AI investment," and stated, "AI is a 'game changer' that will change the landscape of the contemporary global economy."

Lee's presidential election pledges in the AI field include ▲strengthening the function of the Presidential National Artificial Intelligence Committee ▲creating a national AI data aggregation cluster ▲opening public data to the private sector for corporate research and development ▲establishing a global AI joint investment fund ▲introducing AI 'STEM' education programs ▲setting up AI colleges at regional base universities ▲rationalizing AI regulations ▲and promoting the national AI project 'Everyone's AI.'

Meanwhile, as the Democratic Party finalizes the presidential candidate primary rules through a 'National Participation Primary,' attention is focused on the response of non-Lee (anti-Lee Jae-myung) presidential candidates. The Democratic Party's Special Committee on Presidential Election Rules plans to finalize the so-called 'National Participation Primary,' which selects the presidential candidate through 50% party member votes and 50% general public opinion polls, on the afternoon of the 14th.

There is also a view that former Gyeongnam Governor Kim Kyung-soo has entered a 'good second place' strategy after officially announcing his presidential candidacy in Sejong following the disclosure of the primary rules. Political commentator Choi Soo-young predicted, "Former Governor Kim will adopt a strategy of advocating inclusion and unity without provoking former leader Lee for the next step."

On the other hand, Gyeonggi Governor Kim Dong-yeon criticized the primary rules, saying, "It seems to be a meaningless primary, a mere formality, which is regrettable." Former lawmaker Kim Doo-kwan is reportedly discussing whether to withdraw from the race in protest against the Democratic Party's primary rules.
