Joint Technology Development with Academia and Research Institutes
Strengthening the Construction Value Chain with Partner Companies
Hyundai Steel announced on the 14th that it held a kickoff meeting for the 'H Core Solution Product Development Contest' project on the 11th at the Hyundai Steel Training Center in Dangjin.
At the event, Hyundai Steel shared the projects selected through last year's 2nd H CORE SOLUTION contest, which was conducted to develop construction methods and new technologies in collaboration with domestic construction industry, academia, and research institutes. They also introduced the background and operational plans for the H Core Solution initiative and discussed upcoming research content, commercialization strategies, and expected outcomes.
In the previous 2nd contest, a total of 14 projects were selected. These projects diversified the contest product groups to ensure that H Core products (Hyundai Steel’s premium construction steel) are applied throughout the entire construction design, manufacturing, and construction process. The scope was expanded beyond construction steels such as H-beams and thick plates to include iron powder, special steel, and by-products like steelmaking slag. Joint research was also included, aiming to find solutions to social issues such as inter-floor noise that can occur in daily life.
Each institution will conduct joint research with Hyundai Steel according to their project plans to address various issues that may arise in the construction field, including environment, safety, society, and construction methods. Hee-Jung Lim, Head of Hyundai Steel’s Product Development Center, stated, "We will prove the value of H Core, which can lead future construction technology, and grow together with our customers."
