Han Dong-hoon, former leader of the People Power Party who declared his candidacy for the presidential election, stated, "We must reform the party in order to win."
On the 14th, Han appeared on SBS Radio's 'Kim Tae-hyun's Political Show' and said, "The People Power Party has a great advantage in fighting against Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea." He pointed out, "Since Lee is in a unipolar system, there can be no inspiration or drama in the process of selecting a candidate," adding, "Everyone is flattering him. If so, only boredom will remain." He continued, "Our party will reflect and show the future through a fierce debate and expression of diverse opinions during the primary."
Regarding the proposal for Han Deok-soo, Acting President and Prime Minister, to run, Han said, "Even though he had the opportunity to participate in the primary, he did not. He would not choose a trick like unifying with a candidate elected by the party," adding, "Acting President Han is a very sensible person."

About former President Yoon Seok-youl, he said, "We helped each other in difficult times and had that kind of relationship," and "I really hoped President Yoon would lead a successful government." He added, "Issues related to First Lady Kim Keon-hee hindered and hurt the public's feelings, but the President did not acknowledge them," and said, "As the leader of the party, he should have created an opportunity to correct that somehow. I did my best to do so." He also emphasized, "Some call me a 'traitor,' but even if my father had imposed illegal martial law, I would have stopped it."
Han said, "Former President Yoon has become a thing of the past due to the Constitutional Court's impeachment decision. Now, only Lee remains," and asked, "Would the people want Lee to open the world and make a cruel world even more cruel? I don't think so." He added, "Whether you support me or not, you know that I will keep my promises."
Meanwhile, Han held a declaration ceremony in front of the fountain at the National Assembly main building on the 10th, saying, "I deeply empathize with those who suffered from martial law and impeachment. I will share that pain until the end and carry it more and longer," emphasizing, "However, that is just one process toward the goal of the Republic of Korea, which is liberal democracy. When we protect the core conservative values of liberalism and the rule of law and fulfill our responsibilities, we can win again."
