Chuncheon City, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province (Mayor Yuk Dong-han) announced on the 14th that it will operate the 'Nongchon Wangjin Bus' for elderly and farmers in rural areas.
The Nongchon Wangjin Bus is a medical support project jointly participated by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, local governments, and the Nonghyup. It directly visits rural areas lacking medical facilities to provide services such as traditional Korean medicine treatment, exercise therapy, and eye examinations.
To this end, a temporary clinic is set up and operated by circulating through villages. Residents can receive medical services by visiting the clinic at the designated times.
Starting on the 22nd of this month at Chuncheon Nonghyup (Sinsaudong, Sinbuk-eup, Seomyeon), followed by Gangdong Nonghyup (Dong-myeon) on May 20, and Dongchuncheon Nonghyup (Dongnae-myeon, Sindong-myeon, Dongsan-myeon) on May 27, a total of three sessions will provide medical benefits to approximately 900 residents.
A Chuncheon City official stated, "We consider it meaningful to provide practical welfare services to residents in medically vulnerable areas through this project," and added, "We will continue to discover and support various policies to promote residents' health and welfare."
