Certified learning clubs will receive additional points when applying for future lifelong learning excellent club support projects. This project is a contest that supports club activities up to 800,000 KRW, and receiving learning club certification increases the chances of selection by gaining extra points in the contest evaluation.

In addition, information on local learning spaces is provided to help secure stable meeting places. Furthermore, various support projects and operation manuals related to lifelong education can also be obtained.

The certification period is one year, and after expiration, re-certification will be decided by reviewing the club’s activity performance during that period. Eligible applicants are clubs currently registered on the Gangseo-gu Office website that focus on learning and discussion on a set topic, not socializing or friendship.

Club registration can be easily done by writing a brief introduction on the Gangseo-gu Office website. Currently, 147 learning clubs are registered, including those focused on retirement planning and traditional culture research. Only registered clubs are eligible to apply for various club projects.

Clubs must consist of at least seven adults and conduct regular learning activities at least once a month. Additionally, more than 70% of the members must be residents of Gangseo-gu. Applications can be submitted via email, including the club introduction, activity plan, activity photos, and a member list. Detailed information can be found on the Gangseo-gu Office website (Notices/News).

Mayor Jin Gyo-hoon stated, "Through the Learning Club Certification System, we will help residents receive more systematic support and participate in lifelong learning activities," adding, "We expect the certification system to be an important foundation for making Gangseo a city of educational culture."
