The Gwangju Fire Safety Headquarters announced on the 13th that it held the '14th Gwangju CPR Competition for the General Public' at the main auditorium of the National Gwangju Museum on the 11th, aiming to improve the rate of CPR implementation and promote a culture of respect for life.

The competition was organized not just as a contest, but as an opportunity to learn and share CPR skills and to reflect on the value of life. A total of seven teams participated in this event, including one team in the student and youth division and six teams in the university and general division. They gave presentations of up to eight minutes on the topic of cardiac arrest situations and prompt response actions.

As a result of the competition, the Luminous Team from Gwangcheon Youth Culture Center (representing the Western Fire Station), which received high scores in stage presentation, CPR evaluation forms, and equipment-based record evaluations, won the grand prize in the student and youth division. The Luminous Team, as the grand prize winner, will represent Gwangju in the 'National CPR Competition for the General Public' hosted by the National Fire Agency in May.

Kim Youngil, Head of Fire Prevention at the Gwangju Fire Safety Headquarters, said, "I would like to express my deep gratitude to all the participants who worked hard for this competition," and added, "We will continue to do our best to widely spread CPR knowledge and make Gwangju a safer city."
