A political forum aimed at exploring Gwangju's future strategies and its role in the presidential election has been launched.

On the afternoon of the 13th, around 10,000 people including Jeong Cheongrae, Chairman of the National Assembly Legislation and Judiciary Committee, Jeong Gyuje, Chief Editorial Writer of Hankyung, lawmakers Jeong Jinwook, Yang Bunam, Min Hyungbae, An Dogeol, Jo Incheol, Park Gyuntaek, Jeon Jinsuk, Gwangju Mayor Kang Gijung, and citizens participated in the 'Forum Manmin Gongdonghoe' held at the convention hall on the 4th floor of the Kim Daejung Convention Center in Seo-gu, Gwangju.

The inaugural commemorative debate was held under the theme of 'Ways to Set Gwangju and Korea on the Right Path.' The event proceeded in the following order: forum opening declaration, Part 1 discussion (The Gwangju Spirit That Led the Victory of December 3), Part 2 discussion (Gwangju's Future Industries and Growth Strategies), Part 3 discussion (Gwangju Changes Korea), and adoption of a resolution.

The forum addressed topics such as the necessity of including the Gwangju Spirit in the preamble of the Constitution, Gwangju's 'ABCDE' strategic industries (AI, Bio, Culture, Mobility, Energy), and Gwangju's role in establishing the fourth democratic government.

Jeong Gyuje, former Chief Editorial Writer of Hankyung, stated, "In the United States, there is no punishment for lies told during election debates. Only in our country has this situation been created through lawsuits," and added, "Even though the person who lied the most during the presidential debate was Yoon Sukyeol, he shielded himself with the armor of the presidency and brought his fallen opponent to this state."

Lawmakers Jeong Jinwook, An Dogeol, and Jo Incheol presented a future vision centered on four major strategies, asserting that Gwangju can become a key hub for Korea's future growth: ▲Global AI and energy hub city ▲Next-generation industrial cluster creation ▲Asia Culture Center City 3.0 ▲Southwest Mega City development.

Jeong Jinwook, who proposed the forum, said, "In 1898, the Manmin Gongdonghoe called for self-reliance, national sovereignty, and political reform, which spread nationwide," and added, "With the Gwangju Spirit, we were able to block this martial law. I hope this forum will create a new direction for Gwangju's development in the fourth democratic government."

An Dogeol stated, "We will join forces with the citizens so that Gwangju can establish itself as the central axis of balanced national development," and added, "I hope Manmin Gongdonghoe will become the starting point of a new Korea from the heart of democracy, Gwangju."

Jeong Cheongrae, Chairman of the Legislation and Judiciary Committee, said, "The rebellion is not over yet. Acting President Han Deoksoo's nomination of two Constitutional Court judges itself is a rebellion," and added, "To uphold the spirit and values of the Constitution, Gwangju's voice is necessary. Gwangju will be the starting point, and we will prevent further acts of rebellion in the National Assembly."
