Five-term Lawmaker and Pro-Yoon Faction Opposing Impeachment
Yoon Sang-hyun, a member of the People Power Party, has decided to run in the 21st presidential election scheduled for June 3.
According to political circles on the 13th, Representative Yoon has decided to run for president and is coordinating the timing of his declaration and the location of his launch event. It is known that Yoon will register as a candidate on the 15th, the last day for preliminary candidate registration for the People Power Party.
A five-term lawmaker and classified as pro-Yoon (pro Yoon Seok-yeol) faction, Yoon has been a figure advocating against impeachment. He also visited former President Yoon Seok-yeol at the presidential residence in Hannam-dong, Seoul, and at Seoul Detention Center before the former president’s dismissal.

During the impeachment trial of former President Yoon, he organized relay protests and walks calling for the Constitutional Court to dismiss or reject the impeachment.
Yoon also revealed that he met and talked with former President Yoon on the 11th, when the former president moved from the Hannam-dong residence to his private home in Seocho-dong, Seoul.
So far, those who have officially declared their candidacy as People Power Party candidates include former Minister of Employment and Labor Kim Moon-soo, Representative Na Kyung-won, Representative Ahn Cheol-soo, Mayor of Incheon Yoo Jeong-bok, Governor of Gyeongbuk Lee Cheol-woo, and former People Power Party leader Han Dong-hoon.
