FSS Announces Selection of 100 Financial Consumer Reporters

The Financial Supervisory Service (FSS) is selecting 'Financial Consumer Reporters' to monitor trends in the financial sector.

On the 14th, the FSS announced that it will select about 100 'Financial Consumer Reporters' to gather information from the financial field. Selected reporters are required to submit 'Financial Consumer Reports' to the FSS, covering major financial issues, financial market trends, and necessary improvements in regulations.

Reporters will be selected through an open recruitment process, with around 100 people chosen. Any financial consumer aged 18 or older with financial knowledge and experience in financial transactions can apply through the FSS website.

The application period is from 9 a.m. on the 14th until 5 p.m. on the 25th. Applicants can visit the 'Participation & Communication' board on the FSS website and enter the 'Financial Consumer Reporter' section. Applicants may submit a mock report when applying, and outstanding submissions will be considered in the selection process.

Applicants can choose up to three out of eight sector-specific divisions based on their interests, including banking, capital markets, insurance, and credit cards. They will be categorized by age and occupation as youth (18?39 years), middle-aged (40?64 years), seniors (65 and older), financial industry workers, non-financial industry workers, homemakers, small business owners (self-employed), and individual investors.

Once selected as reporters, they must submit reports (Financial Consumer Reports) to the FSS once or twice a month (recommended frequency) on major financial issues, market trends, and necessary regulatory improvements.

Reporters with outstanding performance will receive incentives such as allowances, and quarterly, excellent reports will be selected to receive a modest activity allowance (up to 200,000 KRW).
