Extinguishing Rate at 50 Percent as of 2 p.m. on the 12th
A wildfire that occurred on the 10th in the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) in Hyeonnae-myeon, Goseong-gun, Gangwon, reignited.
According to forestry authorities on the 12th, the wildfire that had been extinguished around 7:30 a.m. the previous day in the southern part of Daegang-ri, Hyeonnae-myeon, Goseong-gun, DMZ, reignited at approximately 2:40 p.m., about 7 hours later.

Because the wildfire occurred in the DMZ, firefighting efforts involving personnel and equipment are somewhat difficult at present. Accordingly, forestry authorities are conducting firefighting operations by deploying one Korea Forest Service helicopter and one leased helicopter with military cooperation.
This wildfire started on the northern side on the 10th and spread southward with the wind. According to local governments and forestry authorities, a wildfire broke out in the southern DMZ at 5:04 p.m. on the 10th, and two helicopters were deployed to extinguish it by around 7:30 a.m. the next day, but the fire reignited on this day.
As of 2 p.m. on this day, the estimated extinguishing rate, including the northern area, is 50%.
