Investigation Planned on Causes and Damage Areas of Wildfires
On the 12th, dry weather warnings were issued for seven cities and counties in Gyeongbuk, and wildfires broke out in several locations.
According to the Korea Forest Service, at around 11:04 a.m. that day, a wildfire occurred on a hill in Hadae-ri, Buhang-myeon, Gimcheon-si, Gyeongbuk, and was extinguished in about an hour. Six helicopters, 75 personnel, and 21 pieces of equipment were deployed to fight the fire.

Earlier, at around 4:09 a.m., a wildfire broke out on a hill in Yonggang-dong, Gyeongju-si, and was extinguished after 1 hour and 13 minutes. Five firefighting vehicles and 35 personnel were mobilized to extinguish the fire.
The forestry authorities plan to investigate the cause and damage area of the wildfires through a wildfire investigation and inspection team in accordance with Article 42 of the Forest Protection Act.
