Jomin Buys 'Tesla' with Gaseyeon Compensation Money: "So Happy and Satisfied"

Gaseyeon Compensation of 32 Million Won
"Hardly Spent Any of My Own Money"

YouTuber Jo Min, who bought a Tesla Model 3 with the compensation money received from Garoseuro Research Institute (Gaseyeon), expressed satisfaction, saying, "I really like it so much."

Jo, the daughter of former Jo Kuk, former leader of the Jo Kuk Innovation Party, and currently active as a YouTuber, recently said in a live broadcast on her personal YouTube channel (Jjomin minchobae), when asked, "How is it driving the new car (Tesla)?" that "It’s really great because it has autonomous driving and automatic parking." She added, "Especially in parking lots, if you just press the automatic parking button, the car parks itself. It’s so nice because I can just pack my things and get ready to leave."

"It’s really amazing. (Gaseyeon) is somewhat satisfying too. I’m currently driving it around and I’m so satisfied that I plan to drive it for a long time," she said, expressing her satisfaction. "I don’t even feel like changing cars anymore." However, she also said, "But don’t expect much in terms of ride comfort. Still, it’s much better than the Fiat I used to drive."

Earlier, Gaseyeon had revealed a photo of a Porsche parked at Pusan National University Medical School in August 2019, mentioning on their broadcast that "Jo Min drives a red sports car." The broadcast also included statements about former leader Jo, such as "Chinese Communist Party funds were involved in the private equity fund he operated." In response, Jo’s side filed a criminal complaint against the cast and a civil lawsuit worth around 300 million won, stating, "Although the children are not public figures, the broadcast contained false information that caused widespread social stigma."

On January 10, the Supreme Court’s First Division (Presiding Justice Noh Kyung-pil) confirmed the lower court’s partial ruling in favor of the plaintiffs in the damages lawsuit filed by former leader Jo and his two children against Gaseyeon, CEO Kim Se-ui, and former operator and lawyer Kang Yong-seok, by dismissing the appeal without oral argument the day before. Accordingly, Jo received 25 million won in compensation and 7 million won in legal interest from Gaseyeon.

Later, in February, Jo said, "Didn’t I promise to spend the compensation money mischievously? After some thought, I bought a used Tesla Model 3," adding, "The car price was almost the same as the compensation money I received, so I hardly spent any of my own money." The vehicle Jo purchased is the 'Tesla Model 3,' released in 2022, which, along with the 'Tesla Model Y,' is considered one of Tesla’s main models.
