Walking the Cherry Blossom Path with Friends... Mapo Cherry Blossom Festival Opens

Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo District, attended the opening ceremony of the 'Beotkkot Donghaeng (Walking with Friends and Flowers), Cherry Blossom Festival' held on the afternoon of April 11 around Red Road R7 Saebit Cultural Forest.

The 'Beotkkot Donghaeng, Cherry Blossom Festival' was vibrantly held mainly along the representative cherry blossom paths of Mapo District, such as the Red Road area and Hiujeong-ro.

A photo zone was created to provide a space where visitors could take various commemorative photos with the beautiful cherry blossoms as a backdrop. Interactive programs that families, friends, and couples could enjoy were also prepared, including a wish tree where people write wishes on cherry blossom-shaped paper and hang them, face painting, and a flea market.

Additionally, special events such as a stamp tour and SNS photo certification offered participants character goods or tickets for the Mapo Circular Train Bus.

Before the official opening ceremony, a preliminary congratulatory performance raised the festive atmosphere. Starting with a greeting from Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo District, the event proceeded with a cherry blossom performance and congratulatory shows, marking the start of the festival.

Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo District, said, "The first-ever Mapo Cherry Blossom Festival this year was filled with diverse performances and abundant events," adding, "On this warm spring day, I hope everyone creates fragrant memories with their loved ones in Mapo."
