Gimcheon City Holds 'Communication Meeting' with Small Business Owners... "All-Out Effort to Revitalize Local Commercial District"

Bae Nakho Stresses the Importance of Reflecting Field Voices
and Preparing Practical Measures

Gimcheon City in North Gyeongsang Province has joined forces with small business owners to help revitalize the local commercial district, which has been struggling due to the prolonged slump in domestic demand.

Gimcheon City Holds 'Communication Meeting' with Small Business Owners... "All-Out Effort to Revitalize Local Commercial District" Baek Nakho, mayor of Gimcheon, is speaking at a communication meeting with small business owners in the Gimcheon City conference room on the 11th.

On the 11th, Gimcheon City held a 'communication meeting' with local small business owners at the merchants' hall on the second floor of Hwanggeum Market to discuss various measures for economic recovery and revitalization of the local commercial area.

This meeting was organized after Mayor Bae Nakho, who took office on the 3rd, visited the traditional market as his first field schedule and directly experienced the difficulties facing the local commercial sector.

During the meeting, Mayor Bae emphasized cooperation with small business owners, stating, "We will prioritize the voices from the field to revive neighborhood businesses, which are the backbone of the local economy."

The merchants who attended the meeting proposed practical and realistic measures such as utilizing vacant spaces in Pyeonghwa Market, expanding accessible parking lots, promoting the 'Hwanggeum Pocha' in Hwanggeum Market, creating an entrance road and expanding public parking for Bugok Matgoeul, and supplying city gas to the central commercial district.

In response, Mayor Bae said, "We are reviewing various options to ensure that the city gas supply issue in the central commercial district becomes a tangible solution for citizens," and added, "We will continue to communicate with the field and do our best to stabilize the local economy."

The city plans to fully implement the 'Local Commercial District Vitality Project' in the second half of the year.

Main initiatives include: ▲a constant 10% discount on Gimcheon Love Gift Certificates ▲expanding the special guarantee for small businesses to 30 billion KRW ▲an additional 100 million KRW each for credit card fee support and store environment improvement projects ▲and encouraging public institutions and companies to use external restaurants.

The city expects these support measures to provide practical help for the management stability of small businesses and the revitalization of the local economy.
