The Mokpo Coast Guard (Chief Chae Sujun) announced that at around 10:34 a.m. on the 11th, they received a report of a person stranded in the mudflat and immediately dispatched rescue teams from nearby police stations, the Coast Guard rescue unit, and Mokpo Aviation Unit to the scene.

The location of the stranded mudflat was about 400 meters from land, making it difficult for rescue teams to approach, and as the tide was coming in, a swift rescue was necessary.
In response, the Coast Guard deployed a helicopter from the Mokpo Aviation Unit and succeeded in rescuing Ms. A about an hour after the report was received. It was reported that Ms. A had been collecting cockles in the mudflat and was confirmed to be in good health.
The Mokpo Coast Guard stated, "Before engaging in activities in the mudflat, it is essential to check the tide schedule in advance and familiarize yourself with the surrounding terrain," and added, "If an emergency occurs, do not hesitate to call 119."
