Scheduled for Review at the Plenary Session on the 22nd
An ordinance bill aimed at managing inter-floor noise issues in small-scale apartment complexes in the Chungnam region is expected to be submitted to the plenary session.
According to the Chungnam Provincial Council on the 11th, the "Partial Amendment to the Ordinance on Support and Management of Apartment Complexes in Chungcheongnam-do," proposed by Democratic Party member Ahn Jangheon, passed the Construction and Firefighting Committee at the 358th temporary session that day.
The main point of the amendment is to establish an institutional foundation that enables small-scale apartment complexes to autonomously prevent and manage inter-floor noise issues.
Currently, the Enforcement Decree of the Apartment Housing Management Act requires only apartment complexes with more than 700 households to establish an inter-floor noise management committee. The amendment focuses on recommending that such committees also be established in small-scale apartment complexes, which have been excluded from this requirement.
Representative Ahn said, "Inter-floor noise is not just a minor inconvenience but an important social issue that can lead to conflict between neighbors," adding, "I hope the province can play a leading role in fostering a culture of harmony and coexistence among residents."
The ordinance bill is scheduled to be reviewed at the fourth plenary session on the 22nd.
