On the 11th, Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam expressed its gratitude and presented plaques of commendation to Changwon City employees and members of the Regional Wildfire Suppression Team who carried out wildfire suppression duties under dangerous conditions during the wildfire that occurred in Sancheong-gun.

The recipients of the commendation included two public officials in charge of wildfire management from Uichang District Office and Seongsan District Office, as well as 19 members of the Regional Wildfire Suppression Team. They were recognized for their contributions after risking their safety to participate in wildfire suppression efforts at the large-scale wildfire site in Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam, on March 21.


In particular, at the wildfire scene, a dangerous situation occurred when strong gusts of wind isolated the suppression team in the flames and two vehicles were completely burned. However, with a strong sense of duty, they did their utmost in joint wildfire suppression, serving as a great example for the local community.


Jang Geumyong, Acting Mayor of Changwon Special City, stated, "Recently, large-scale wildfires have been causing significant damage across the country during the spring season. I would like to thank the employees and suppression team members who have worked hard to fight these fires under difficult circumstances. We will continue to do our utmost in wildfire prevention and response in the future."
