Agreement Signed with Police, Women's Family Foundation, and Women's Association Council
Shinan County in Jeollanam-do announced on the 11th that it had signed a business agreement on the 10th in the county office video conference room with Shinan Police Station, Jeonnam Women's Family Foundation, and Shinan County Women's Association Council to promote the 'Visiting Citizen Violence Prevention Education' program.
The Visiting Citizen Violence Prevention Education is in accordance with Article 30 of the Framework Act on Gender Equality, which mandates local governments to prevent violence and protect victims. The target audience is the general public of the county, and through this education, the county aims to improve awareness regarding violence and establish a social safety net by taking preemptive measures to prevent incidents.

The agreement includes: ▲actively promoting awareness and prevention projects regarding violence ▲supporting publicity and education for violence prevention ▲establishing a cooperative system to protect victims of violence.
The county will provide administrative support such as recruiting participants and providing venues. Shinan Police Station will conduct campaigns and on-site counseling, while the Jeonnam Women's Family Foundation will carry out education through professional instructors. The Shinan County Women's Association Council will handle publicity for the education and provide refreshments during the sessions as needed.
The education will be held at least once in each town and township, with each session accommodating up to about 100 people. The curriculum will focus on the four major types of violence (sexual violence, domestic violence, sexual harassment, and prostitution), and will also cover new forms of gender-based violence such as deepfakes, stalking, and dating violence, which have recently been frequently reported in the media.
Kim Daein, acting governor, stated, "This agreement is a joint promise to protect not only against violence but also the safety and dignity of our citizens," and added, "We hope that through the Visiting Violence Prevention Education, improved awareness of violence and a system for protecting victims will spread throughout the local community."
