A total of three spare engines secured... One more to be added in Q3
"Striving to minimize customer inconvenience amid supply chain disruptions"
Air Premia announced on the 11th that it has additionally procured one 'Trent 1000 TEN' engine from Rolls-Royce in the UK. This is to ensure operational stability.
Air Premia will have a total of three spare engines. Considering that two more aircraft will be introduced this year, the company plans to purchase one more engine within the third quarter. By the end of the year, it aims to have four spare engines for a total of nine aircraft.
Generally, airlines maintain spare engines at about 10% of their aircraft fleet size. According to the current plan, Air Premia will hold spare engines at a rate exceeding 20% relative to its fleet size of nine aircraft (requiring 18 engines in total, two per aircraft).
With the additional spare engines, Air Premia expects to be able to respond quickly to various abnormal situations such as engine repairs. Once the engine is delivered next month, all aircraft are expected to operate normally within the first half of the year.
An Air Premia official stated, "Due to the global supply chain collapse, the turnaround time (TAT) for engine repairs has lengthened, making stable operations difficult. However, by expanding safety investments through additional spare engine purchases, we are striving to minimize customer inconvenience and secure operational stability."
