Korea's Top Men's Pro Tournament, 'Busan Open' International Challenger Tennis Tournament Kicks Off

The 2025 Busan Open International Challenger Tennis Tournament will be held from the 13th to the 20th at the Geumjeong Sports Park Tennis Court in Busan.


Celebrating its 25th anniversary this year since its first domestic event in 1999, the 'Busan Open' is a 'Challenger 125' tournament, ranking among the top-tier events in the world men's Challenger circuit.


The event is hosted by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) and the Korea Tennis Association, organized by the Busan Open Organizing Committee, and sponsored by the Busan Metropolitan Government.


A total of 80 professional players from 30 countries, including 11 from Korea and 69 from overseas, will compete for a total prize money of $200,000 (approximately 290 million KRW).


From the 13th to the 19th, the tournament will feature men's singles and doubles qualifying and main draw matches, with a total of 64 matches: 49 singles matches (18 qualifying, 31 main draw) and 15 doubles matches (all main draw).


The highlight of the tournament, the singles and doubles finals, will take place on the last day, April 20, starting at 11 a.m.


Among the Korean men's national team players participating are: Kwon Soonwoo (ATP 440th), Nam Ji-sung (ATP doubles 121st), and Gerard Campana Lee (ATP 397th).


Top international players such as Adam Walton (ATP 86th), Christopher Eubanks (ATP 110th), and Emil Ruusuvuori (ATP 226th) will visit Korea to showcase high-level skills.


This year's Busan Open offers a chance to watch renowned tennis players compete in person, and all matches will be held free of charge at the 3,000-seat Geumjeong Sports Park Tennis Court. For more information, contact the Busan Tennis Association office.
