Dongguk CM Opens Australian Office... Secures 8th Overseas Base

Accounting for 20% of Construction Color Steel Sheet Exports
Targeting Premium Construction Demand with Luxteel

Dongkuk Steel Group's Dongkuk CM announced on the 10th (local time) the opening of its 'Australia Office.' This marks the 8th country of expansion following the United States, Japan, Mexico, India, Thailand, Vietnam, and Germany.

Oceania, including Australia, is a key region accounting for 20% of total exports of Dongkuk CM's construction material color steel sheets, represented by 'Luxteel.' Since 2015, continuous local demand growth has increased export volume by about five times. Dongkuk CM plans to target the premium construction demand within Oceania based on the newly opened Australia office.

Earlier, in July last year, Dongkuk CM selected Australia as a candidate for its next hub and conducted two rounds of local surveys. During this process, it was analyzed that Australia could become a future key demand market from a mid- to long-term perspective, including the 2032 Brisbane Olympics, and it was judged necessary to secure a local base, leading to the decision to open the hub.

The Dongkuk CM Australia office is located in Melbourne's CBD (Central Business District). It is evaluated to have an excellent business environment due to its proximity to local manufacturers and major customers. It is also 30 minutes away from the industrial complex where coil centers and roll forming companies are located.

Jinyoung Kim, Sales Manager of Dongkuk CM, said, "Securing a local base is essential to diversify export strategies amid changing environments. Through active sales activities, we plan to raise awareness of 'Luxteel,' a specialized product uniquely produced in Korea, and create new demand with customized color steel sheets for small-lot, multi-variety production."
