Buyeo County to Build 'Uriai Donghaengmaru'... Support for Childcare and Learning

A Three-Story Facility to Be Built in Guyam-myeon Area
Scheduled for Completion by 2029

Buyeo County to Build 'Uriai Donghaengmaru'... Support for Childcare and Learning Site planned for Buyeogun 'Urii Donghaengmaru' / Buyeogun Office

Buyeo-gun, Chungnam Province announced on the 11th that it will construct a multi-purpose space called 'Woori-ai Donghaengmaru' for the care and education of local children and adolescents by 2029.

'Woori-ai Donghaengmaru' will be built in the Guyam-myeon area as a three-story building with a total floor area of 3,305 square meters. It is planned to serve as an education and care center supporting the safe care and learning of children and adolescents.

This project is a model realized at the local level in connection with the government's 'Neulbom School' policy. Its purpose is to supplement the limitations of school education and to provide more systematic after-school care and education services led by the local government.

Donghaengmaru will be equipped with various facilities such as an indoor playground for children, care spaces, a health room, as well as youth education facilities and media learning rooms that can provide customized programs by age group.

For this facility, the county secured a total project budget of 15.6 billion won through the Local Extinction Response Fund last year and the second phase of the Regional Balanced Development Project this year. The county also plans to secure additional national and provincial funding in the future.

The county plans to significantly improve living conditions in the Guyam-myeon area as well. Guyam-myeon is the only area in Buyeo-gun where population growth is expected, with a large-scale apartment complex of 1,206 households to be built by 2028, attracting households with school-aged children.

In addition, Guyam-myeon has the lowest aging rate among the 15 towns and townships in Buyeo-gun and is home to many young generations, so the impact of this project is expected to be significant.

The county is also pushing forward with various projects to improve living infrastructure and residents' quality of life, including the 14.1 billion won 'Guyam-naru Urban Regeneration Project', the 12.5 billion won 'Guyam-myeon Rural Center Revitalization Project', and the 700 million won '123 Sabi Youth Craft Village Revitalization Project'.

A county official stated, "Woori-ai Donghaengmaru will be created as a comprehensive space that supports not only learning but also the emotional and social development of local children," adding, "By enhancing the convenience of childcare and parenting, it will help young generations settle in the region and play an important role in preventing population outflow."
