'20th Anniversary' National Museum of Korea to Host a Grand Cultural Festival

The Museum Culture Festival is a free performance for visitors that the National Museum of Korea has held annually since 2014. This year, a total of 26 performances will be held, including a concert commemorating Disabled Persons Day on April 19 and performances at regional national museums.

Starting in April with a yodel song performance by the Gwanhyeon Blind Traditional Arts Troupe and visually impaired artists, performances by the National Chorus, National Dance Company, National Symphony Orchestra, and KBS Gugak Orchestra will be presented in May, June, and September. On August 15, a special performance will be held to mark the 80th anniversary of Liberation Day and the 20th anniversary of the opening of the National Museum of Korea in Yongsan.

The regional Museum Culture Festival will be held under the theme "Dance in the Museum." Various dance groups, including young trainees from the National Dance Company, LDP Dance Company, Fusion MC, Gambler Crew, and Sinabro Gaseume, will showcase dynamic dance performances.

A museum official said, "This year's Museum Culture Festival has been prepared with even more meaningful performances to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the opening of the National Museum of Korea in Yongsan and the 80th anniversary of Liberation Day, among other special exhibitions," adding, "Regional national museums have also created opportunities to expand local residents' participation along with various genre performances, so we ask for your great interest and support."
