American fried chicken brand KFC's 'Chicken-Flavored Toothpaste,' released as an April Fools' joke, has gained popularity, selling out within 48 hours of its launch.
According to Fox News in the U.S. on the 8th (local time), KFC collaborated with local toothpaste company Hismile to introduce the limited-edition chicken-flavored toothpaste.
KFC described the product as "an attractive item that flavors your teeth before refreshing and cleansing your mouth, like taking a bite of a hot, juicy piece of KFC Original Recipe chicken."
The product is being sold on the Hismile website for $13 per tube (approximately 18,894 KRW). Kovan Jones, Hismile's marketing manager, said, "It started as an April Fools' joke, but we thought, what if we made it real? We like to push boundaries."
He added, "Is there a better way to bring KFC's legendary flavor into an everyday essential? This collaboration is bold, unexpected, and really fun."
Hismile is reportedly considering additional production plans due to the unexpected popularity.
