Personally Painting the Campaign Office Orange
Emphasizes: "Will Meet the Most Voters at Gangnam Station"
Lee Jun-seok, the Reform New Party candidate who officially declared his presidential bid, opened a presidential campaign office near Gangnam Station in Seocho-gu, Seoul on the 10th, marking the start of full-scale election preparations. Reform New Party
Furthermore, he said, "People generally do not think of a presidential campaign office as a space easily accessible to ordinary voters," adding, "On the other hand, our campaign will be the most accessible and will meet the greatest number of voters." He also noted, "At least 70,000 people pass through the Gangnam Station area daily, and thousands commute to and from the southern Gyeonggi region," and stated, "We will create a comfortable atmosphere where such people can take a short rest at the campaign office."
On this day, Candidate Lee personally painted the wall with orange paint, the party's symbolic color, at the campaign office opening ceremony, emphasizing, "This shows my determination to start from the basics, step by step, beginning with painting." He added, "In this presidential election, I will pursue politics that sets things right from the foundation." Provided by the Reform New Party
On the same day, Lee also criticized the pledges of Lee Jae-myung, former leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, who declared his presidential candidacy. He pointed out, "The 20s and 30s generation, who seriously contemplate the future, are expressing concerns about pledges that do not make sense." Regarding Lee Jae-myung's 'K-NVIDIA' policy, he called it "the Lee Jae-myung version of the blue whale," emphasizing, "If a leader who runs the country like a 'lottery' is elected, there is no future for the Republic of Korea." He concluded by adding, "The president must present pledges that encompass all generations and people."
Meanwhile, unlike Lee, most other presidential hopefuls set up their campaign offices in Yeouido. Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon chose the Manhattan 21 building, located opposite the People Power Party headquarters in Yeouido, as his presidential campaign office. People Power Party lawmaker Ahn Cheol-soo also decided to use the 'Future Development Forum' office in this building as a think tank for the early presidential election. In the Daehwa Building, known as the 'presidential power spot' in Yeouido, Daegu Mayor Hong Joon-pyo and former People Power Party leader Han Dong-hoon plan to establish their campaign offices. Mayor Hong also set up his campaign office in the Daehwa Building during his 2017 presidential bid as the Liberty Korea Party candidate.
