Operating Love's Meal Truck and More... Gathering Warm Hearts for Sanbul Disaster Relief in Jungnang-gu

Jungnang-gu (District Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) continues to extend warm support to victims affected by the forest fire.

On the 9th and 10th, the Jungnang-gu Volunteer Group visited the forest fire-affected area in Cheongsong, Gyeongbuk, to operate a "Love Meal Truck." This volunteer effort began when the Neonauri Volunteer Group (Leader Cheon Hyun-min) offered to provide meals at their own expense to deliver warm food to the fire-affected area. In response, the local volunteer camp activists willingly joined, making the event possible. Over two days, they provided 200 servings per day, totaling 400 warm meals, offering comfort and encouragement to the victims.

Additionally, there were donations from local residents intended to support forest fire relief. On the 31st of last month, the Junghwa 1-dong Youth Development Association donated 1 million won, and on the 4th, resident Lee Bong-deok (84) from Junghwa 2-dong donated 2 million won to aid in forest fire recovery and provide daily necessities to the victims. Mr. Lee said, "It is a small contribution, but I hope it helps," and his generous donation moved many residents deeply.

Employee participation also continued. From March 31 to April 4, the district conducted a fundraising campaign among all employees, raising about 12 million won. The funds will be delivered to the forest fire-affected areas in the Yeongnam region through the Korean Red Cross.

Earlier, on April 2, practical support was also provided to residents in the affected areas by delivering 1,000 cup noodles, 1,000 canned coffees, and snacks worth approximately 3 million won to elderly people staying at shelters in the Andong area.

Ryu Kyung-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, said, "I hope Jungnang-gu’s small sincerity brings comfort to the victims who lost their homes due to the forest fire," and added, "Going forward, Jungnang-gu will respond swiftly to crises inside and outside the region and work with volunteers to build a warm community."
