According to the U.S. Department of Labor on the 10th (local time), the number of new unemployment benefit claims for the week of March 30 to April 5 increased by 4,000 from the revised figure of the previous week to 223,000. This level matches the market forecast (223,000).

The number of continuing unemployment benefit claims, which are claims filed for at least two weeks, was recorded at 1.85 million for the week of March 23 to 29. This was below both the revised figure of the previous week (1.893 million) and the market forecast (1.88 million).
