Up to 100,000 KRW Support Per Day Until the 25th
Damyang County, South Jeolla Province (Governor Jung Chulwon), announced on the 10th that it is recruiting participants for the "Travel for a Month in Namdo Damyang" program, which invites travelers to explore hidden attractions in the region and enjoy their journey, until the 25th.
This program allows participants to travel around Jeonnam, including Damyang, to experience the flavors and charms of Namdo, discover hidden tourist spots and restaurants in Damyang, and then share their experiences and promotional posts online. Upon completing the required tasks, each participant can receive up to 100,000 KRW per day for accommodation and meal expenses.
Approximately nine teams will be selected, and anyone over the age of 18 who does not reside in Gwangju or Jeonnam is eligible to apply. However, applicants must be able to promote Damyang's tourist destinations on social media during their trip.
Previously, participants were required to travel in Damyang for seven consecutive days, but this year, applicants can participate if they spend more than half of their trip, which can last from a minimum of seven to a maximum of thirty days throughout Jeonnam, in Damyang.
To assist with travel planning, the county is recommending tourist courses divided into four regions: the Damyang-eup area, which includes Gwanbangjerim, Juknokwon, and Metasequoia Land; the Gasa Literature area, where visitors can experience garden culture at Myeonangjeong and Soswaewon; the Slow City area, where the aesthetics of slowness can be enjoyed in the Changpyeong-myeon Slow City Village; and the Damyangho area, where visitors can explore Gamagol Ecological Park, home to the source of the Yeongsangang River, and Chuwolsan Mountain. This allows travelers to choose courses that suit their preferences.
Applicants must submit their application form via email. For more details, inquiries can be made to the Tourism Policy Team of the Damyang County Tourism Division.
Governor Jung Chulwon stated, "As many tourists are showing interest in Damyang, we will strive to develop tourism programs that offer a variety of benefits," adding, "We hope this support project will serve as a catalyst for revitalizing the stay-type tourism market."
