Icheon City Holds Party-Government Council Meeting with People Power Party Icheon City Branch

Cooperation on Local Issues Such as Establishing a Science High School and Municipal Crematorium

On the 8th, Icheon City in Gyeonggi Province held the 6th Party-Government Council of the 8th Civilian Administration with the People Power Party Icheon City Branch in the city hall's main conference room to discuss cooperation plans for major local pending projects, the city announced on the 10th.

At the meeting attended by about 40 people including Mayor Kim Kyung-hee, National Assembly member Song Seok-jun, City Council Chairman Park Myung-seo, Provincial Assembly members Heo Won and Kim Il-jung, People Power Party city council members, key party officials, and city hall executives, the city requested joint party-level responses to five pending projects currently pursuing national and provincial government subsidy public projects, such as provincial funding support for the construction of the Icheon City Comprehensive Indoor Gymnasium and support for establishing smart senior centers in Icheon.


The party and government discussed major local issues including ▲ the plan to establish Icheon Science High School ▲ the plan to build a municipal crematorium ▲ the development of the Icheon High-Tech Industrial Complex ▲ the project to create walkable paths ▲ the plan to build downtown parking lots ▲ the establishment of new metropolitan bus routes ▲ the Seolbong Park renovation project ▲ and the improvement of residential environments for foreign workers.


Mayor Kim said, "Since the launch of the 8th Civilian Administration in Icheon City, close party-government cooperation has achieved results such as the re-designation of the ordinary local allocation tax recipient organization, securing national and provincial funds, improving adjacent regulations, and attracting Icheon Science High School," adding, "Let us achieve smooth communication and cooperation between the party and government for the development of the city."


Committee member Song stated, "As this is a turbulent time both domestically and internationally due to the tariff war and early presidential election, it is time to unite our efforts to solve the city's challenges," and added, "I will do my best to secure national funds for regulatory reform and the city's financial expansion."
