Dry Weather Increases Fire Risk
Gwangju and Jeonnam are experiencing clear and mild weather, with daytime temperatures expected to rise up to 24 degrees Celsius. On the 11th, Gwangju and Jeonnam will experience clear and mild weather. The highest daytime temperature is expected to reach 24 degrees Celsius, spreading a full spring atmosphere.
According to the Gwangju Meteorological Administration, the region will be affected by a high-pressure system moving from southern China to the seas south of Jeju Island.
Morning lows will be 4 degrees in Jangseong, Hampyeong, Muan, Naju, Hwasun, Yeongam, Jangheung, Boseong, and Haenam; 5 degrees in Damyang, Gokseong, Yeonggwang, and Gangjin; 6 degrees in Mokpo, Jindo, Goheung, and Gurye; 7 degrees in Shinan and Wando; 8 degrees in Gwangju and Suncheon; 9 degrees in Gwangyang; and 11 degrees in Yeosu.
The highest daytime temperatures will be 24 degrees in Gwangju, Jangseong, Damyang, Gokseong, Gurye, and Hwasun; 23 degrees in Naju and Yeongam; 22 degrees in Hampyeong and Muan; 21 degrees in Yeonggwang, Haenam, Gangjin, Suncheon, and Gwangyang; 20 degrees in Wando and Goheung; 19 degrees in Shinan, Jindo, and Mokpo; and 18 degrees in Yeosu, making for a mild day.
Waves on the seas will be 0.5 to 1 meter high in the coastal waters of the West Sea and South Sea. Both fine and ultrafine dust levels are forecast to remain at 'moderate' throughout the day.
An official from the Meteorological Administration stated, "Due to the dry weather, even small sparks can lead to large fires, so please take care to manage fire sources during outdoor activities."
